Incorporating lavender oil into your daily life is not only easy; it’s incredibly soothing and calming to the mind, body and soul. Historically, the Egyptians used the oil as a perfume, and the Romans carried on this tradition by using lavender as a cleansing soap and aromatic scent in their public bath system. Today, people often diffuse the oil in the bedroom as a sleep aid, as the sweet, gentle scent calms and eases the nervous system. It is particularly effective for children, and even for pets! Just put a few drops of pure lavender on a pillow, bed sheets, or on a pet bed.
You can also try dabbing a few drops of the oil onto a cotton ball and leaving it in your linen closet. It will not only deter moths and other insects, but your linens will smell fresh and inviting each time you open the closet!
Pure lavender oil can also be used as an enhancer in your favorite tea, to flavor your water, or even baked into brownies, cakes or as a complement to a homemade salad dressing. The oil is incredibly versatile and a great part of one’s daily regimen!
