Candle holders can be hard to keep clean and clear of unsightly wax drips. The best way to handle build-up is to prevent it in the first place! Did you know that you could use standard home cooking spray to keep your votive holders and candlesticks clean? Just spray the inside of the candle holder with a thin coating of cooking spray before dropping in your candle of choice. After the candle has burned down, the remaining wax will simply slip out without leaving any hard to clean residue.
What should you do if your candle holders already have hardened wax inside? For votives, first use a tool like a butter knife to separate large chunks of wax from the glass. Then, fill each holder with hot water (the hotter the better) and watch as the remaining wax slides off. Finish by wiping the holder clean with a towel or rag.
